Canalway Trail Ambassadors
The role of a trail ambassador is three-fold:
Assist and inform trail users
Monitor the trail and its conditions
Promote courtesy, safety and awareness of the trail
Canalway Trail Ambassador program was launched with a pilot program in the Town of Niskayuna in 2008.
Joe Landry (Niskayuna Town Supervisor), Carmella Mantello (Director of the NYS Canal Corporation), Mike Miller (Assemblyman James Tedisco's office), David Hunt (Manager of the L.L. Bean store at Colonie Center), Wally Elton (Parks & Trails New York) and Gillian Scott (Friends of the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail).
